Foldable phone experience is already past "interesting and fun" use cases to practical and useful day to day. Samsung Fold for American market and the various Chinese manufacturers in China proves that.
AR/VR market on the other hand is still way more niche than practical uses on a day to day.

Well, sure - prediction works as a baseline, if you abstract out everything else about what counts as intelligence and subsume it under this framework. Any protocol for intelligence can be entirely reduced down to this without trying to understand anything about the structure of intelligence. Solomonoff induction is "vacuous" in this sense too - it doesn't try to understand any intension about the turing machines it finds simple, it just brute forces over all of them. So you're making a claim about intension, whether you want to or not.
It's really no different than say, Darwinians, saying, "what matters is victory at the end". I think the statement has value in the context of some discussions, but trying to make grand statements like this makes it vacuous.
It's one of these classic unfalsifiable too general statements. The way the end of the article is framed is also icky - the way I'm reading it, it needs to prove all the old curmudgeon evil theories wrong. It reminds me of internet debates around what "the scientific method" is or whatever. It has this kind of zeal that needs to pit itself against the "enemy" and assert itself as the sole right viewpoint, even when say, naive "let's just be empirical" is wrong (e.g. recently had a discussion here about Mach and Boltzmann about this and had a similar interaction).

Basically, "shut up and calculate" type theories are never correct, and furthermore, you yourself don't shut up and calculate, or think that way at all, and a higher level intelligence won't conceive itself as operating on that anyways. So what are we doing here? It seems like a way to get mad and feel like an intellectual victim.
Thanks! Yeah, I was a little surprised (maybe I shouldn't have been) at how negative some of the comments were. I will think about what additional explanations I can provide that will help people. Regarding rclone, I have also spent a bunch of time looking at faster transfers to and from S3-compatible storage, but that problem is somewhat different, and I didn't look in depth at how rclone is implemented. FWIW, in my experience, s5cmd is generally a bit faster than rclone even if you tune rclone options. (But rclone is more flexible.) My guess is that s5cmd is already close to the performance ceiling, but I don't really know.
As for edge cases, I will also try to document that more. In general, when I'm not sure what semantics to go for, I try to either copy what rsync does or do something safer. For instance, one thing I am looking at now is the best way to handle cases where a source path cannot be represented on the target filesystem or where two source paths would collide (e.g. due to unicode normalization or case insensitivity). Tentatively, my inclination is to try to fail before copying any files when possible. Currently, syq doesn't do this (but neither does rsync).

A 10x reduction in pre-training means a 10x faster feedback loop. I'm pretty sure any lab would sign up for that. You can start experimenting on different approaches much more aggressively.
I use it, and have been happy with it for the most part. Like sibling, I use it for GPT-5.6-Sol and Opus work, and use their free models (GLM 5.2 for the past few months, trying SWE-2 now).
I try to remember to say something like this: "This is an interesting solution, but I'm not confident we have a shared understanding of the problem we're solving. I have a few guesses, but I don't want to bias the discussion, so please restate the problem without suggesting a solution. If it's too difficult to explain, I can suggest what problems I think you might be running into." I wish I always remembered to say that. :-)
It’s definitely glasses. Once you try any even low res HUD glasses like the Vuzix Z100, or even the Vision Pro, you might realize how annoying it is that phones, tablets, and even books subtly force you to look downwards all day.
There’s no reason I shouldn’t be able to for example take a stroll in the park and read my email, song lyrics, etc.. without craning my neck downwards or holding my phone right in front of my face. The content should just be where my eyes are looking. Even laying on the couch to watch a movie is annoying when you have to hold your arm up and shift the balance of your iPad all the time to stop getting tired. Just put it in front of me.
I’ve thought about hanging a book-holder from the ceiling by a string for this reason. Maybe a ton of helium or a quiet drone would work too. I think thats’ the frontier..having our current setups but just floating around us.
Reminds me of how they allow OEMs to install bloatware through Windows update now. I believe LG did something that leads to various app installs when you connect their monitors via HDMI.
